The selection of roller shades including those referred to as solar shades has exploded in recent years. There is no other blind or shade that offers as many choices of fabrics as roller shades. They can be almost transparent, sheer, translucent, light filtering, dimming, room darkening, or opaque. They reflect heat, insulate  can be manual, motorized, or lift assist.
This is one case where you can actually save some dough without giving up quality by using some lesser known brands. 
They use identical hardware and tubes as the big guys but for much less $. The selection will not be as vast but there is still plenty to choose from.
